    Bullet Time!
Benjamin Johnson and I like the Matrix Revolutions. in our discussion about it, he let me know that a friend of ours Dylan, mentioned that Ben's endorsement of "Brick" did not hold any weight because Dylan feels that Ben is a poor judge of films. Because Dylan hates me for liking Matrix Revolutions and said that he would never watch that movie again, Here was my response to Ben...

You know what, Flash Gordon is a piece of shit movie (in my opinion), yet both you and dylan enjoy it. Now, just because i dissagree with your opinion of that movie, does not mean that it is bad, or good. Even if your opinion of films differs from dylans, that does not mean that he should be saying that shit. Now, there are alot of movies that you like, that i dont, and vise versa. When you make a suggestion on a movie that i want to see, than i know what i am getting into, based on my past experiences with you, i know what you like and dont like, and based on that i will choose what type of endorsement it is. if jeff tells me that History of Violence sucks ass, chances are (based on my history with jeff) that this will not affect what i thing of the film. Jeff thought that Mighty Wind was Boring, he thought that Hudsucker was weird. But on the otherhand he really liked The Island and War Of the Worlds. I will be the judge of what your opinion means to me, and i will use my judgement to decide whether to see the movie or not. When i tell dylan to go see a movie, that it is good. He had denied me everytime. I suggested crash, up until the point where he called me while i was waiting outside the theater to let me know that he was not coming along. I mentioned Kiss Kiss Bang Bang to him, and it took about 3 and a half months, and a drive to LA in order for him to go see it. i told him that he should see the Inside Man and Thank you for smoking Chances are he is going to let those two pass by as well. what i dont understand, is the fact that dylan seems to have some kind of a chip on his shoulder when it comes to his friends suggesting smaller independent films to him. does it offend him that we are the ones doing the suggesting? does he feel that we should be watching retarded hollywood cinema, and that he should be "mr. trendy", and enlightening us with his all powerfull knowledge of independant film? does our opinion on independant film not count, because we didnt spend our college years getting a degree in comunications? i am pretty sure the last time i looked, i knew how to tell a story, as well as how a story should be told. i have been a fan of cinema all my life, and own over 550 dvds. i love film, whether it is a piece of shit like Beastmaster or a cinematic classic like Citizen Kane or Seven Samurai. am i a bad person for hating Munich and enjoying Transporter 2? If i feel that the story that the storyteller is trying to get across comes through, than i will enjoy it. Just because you are a fan of a crappy film, does not mean that your opinion on what is good and what is bad, is invalid. Fuck that guy, and Viva La Revolutions!

    You Were The Chosen...1
Well this is it. It will be a day long remembered.

The final day before Star Wars episode III: Revenge of the Sith is released.
as you probably guessed, i am the most excited guy on the planet!
i don't care what you say, I am the biggest Star Wars fan ever. there is nobody who loves these movies more than I. in a couple of hours, me and the fella's and fellettes will be watching Lost, a great show on ABC. After that Me Ben and Jeff will be heading up to Westwood, and meet up with Lobsterboy "vikki the goddess" and Flenoy. We will be getting in line for our 10:30pm show tomorrow, at around 10:30pm tonight!
i cannot wait. this is so huge, i can hardly contain myself.
today was the longest lasting day at work, EVER. now it is over, and the time for our attack has come. Tony will be equipt with his patented Blastshield Spoiler Free shirt, which i made, a Blindfold and a head set playing music.

For those of you that dont know, tony has been pretty much spoiler free, for the last 3 star wars flicks. the only thing that he knows about episode III, is the Title of the film. He knows nothing else. The shirt i made him this time, has a cool logo on the front, that has the word Blast shield on it, and there is a picture of the helmet Luke Wears in Ep.IV.on the back, there is so much spoilage on it, that if he were to be able to hinge his neck around like an owl, he would find out ALL the secrets of the universe. it is a fun game. I put the phrase that pays on the back "spoiler free for episode three"! damn this is a great tradition.

well i dont know what else to say other than i plan on seeing the movie 3 times before i go to work on monday. and i will see you all later.

I am a huge fan of the hit show "LOST". Now anyone who knows me, knows that i am not a big fan of "hit" anything. i've never been into things that are trendy (i.e.- trainspotting, swingers, red hot chili peppers, mel gibson films and especially not Network TV). but i tell you one thing, i like this show Lost sooo much, that i am writing about it on my livejournal, because i am sooo excited that a new show is coming up on wednesday. it has been like 3 weeks, and now i get to see more of the story revealed....!

and one more thing. STAR WARS is like a month and a half away!

Ice Pirates, and Regular Ones Too...61
The last two Dvd purchases i have made, have been two movies that i remember fondly from my childhood. The first one was the Don Coscarelli classic "The Beast Master". Stevi had never seen it before. So what i decided to do, is go and purchase it. On the ride home, i built up the movie so much, i started to feel awkward about the whole situation, cause i realized that i in fact had not seen the movie since i was probably 8 years old. so as far as i knew, the movie sucked ass. well needless to say, the movie was not great, but we both enjoyed it for what is was worth. she really liked it, as for me, it brought back great memories of grabbing a stick and swinging it around like Marc Singer, awesome. Yesterday i decided to pick up another childhood favorite movie of mine,"The Ice Pirates". Now i was so confident about the Beast Master affair, that i decided once again build up the Ice Pirates to stevi. She had not seen this one either. So anyway, Ice Pirates was a little bit of a let down. Dont get me wrong, i loved it, it just wastn't as entertaining as beast master. I tell you one thing though, all the things that were memorable in the movie, from when i was a kid, were still incredibly enjoyable now. Things such as Space Herpes, Near Castrations, Desert Dune Buggies, Bruce Valance, and that whole Time warp thing, that makes that black guy's hair HUGE and white. that was funny ass shit.

Now here is where i need some help. There is one other movie, besides Ice Pirates and Beast Master that was on cable ALL the time when i was a kid. It was a pirate movie. Now for years, i have been under the impression that the movie i loved as a kid was the film adaptation of "The Pirates of Penzance". Here is the dilemma. I was on Anchorbayentertainment.com the other day,and it said that they were about to release a film called "The Pirate Movie". i've been looking at both the posters for each of these films, and they both could be the pirate movie i remember watching all the time as a kid. I really would like to get this movie. for i own ALL of my childhood favorite cable movies on dvd, Superman, Red Dawn,Clash of the Titans, Star Wars,Beast Master, and now Ice Pirates. Now, if anyone knows about either the Pirates of Penzance, or The Pirate Movie, please let me know details, so i may purchase this movie on dvd, and build it up for Stevi, even though i might be talking out of my ass.

Oh yeah, i also need to know what movie from the 80's has a big final stunt involving a motor cycle, jumping or flying into the back of a carrier airplane, that is taking off, with it's cargo hatch down. i think it was Delta Force, but i have no clue.

Damn it Feels Good to be a Gangster...66
Well, i just got back from AZ and all is good. i took today off, to get some rest. I need to get going on the Galactic Attack script some more. I got word from Dylan, that he liked the story so far. He seemed to luke the fast paced nature of the dialog. He said that all the characters talk like me,oh well, what are you gonna do, when one man writes for many? Lisa sent me a picture of the artwork she did for part of the packaging design for the video game box. i loved the work she did, but there was one thing, that i wanted to change, and in light of recent events (see my March 9th entry), i was afraid to ask her to include an additional space cruiser in the painting. But i worked up the courage to do so, and she knew exactly what i meant. she then worked up the courage to ask me to design the space cruiser, well needless to say, it worked out ok. as far as the current box design, with painting, The consensus is that is looks good. "Pursuit Agent", who has seen the box, was concerned that the design that i had created might be a little too perfect. he fears that since i am hoping to make this movie free from any copyright infringements, that i may be too accurate in my design. as far as i am concerned, that is a ringing endorsement. thanks dude! i will keep you updated on the movie, and by the way, look at those days dwindle. shit man only 66 days!!!

    Two Tiny Thumbs Up...269
Last night, i went over to my sister's house, much to Ben's dismay.
I think he was under the impression that we weren't on a schedule. sorry dude, we
were on a plan as you go basis. i guess i should have let you know that before we let
matt and tony play one level of co-op james bond for two hours, instead of watching
freddy vs. jason, like we told the ratt we were going to do.
anyway, i went to my sister's house, and took shaolin soccer with me. i figured, fuckit, you never know what kids think of movies, maybe they will enjoy it. Shit, if there is anyone who gives a damn about soccer in the U.S.A., it's little kids. and from what i hear, they love them some ass kicking as well. besides, this was probably my only chance to watch the americanized version of this
    brilliant film.

when i arrived at my sister's house i just set the dvd on the coffee table, and didn't say a word. as soon as my sister jumped on the computer, to download some tunes, matt 0 (my first nephew) said he wanted to watch the shit out of some shaolin soccer. he picked up the dvd, and handed it to my sister, and asked if it was okay to watch. she grabbed the dvd, and asked me and matt what it was rated.
almost in unison, we both said pg-13. My nephew matt is under the age of thirteen, don't ask, i think he is ten. my other nephew steven who would be like seven or something, was also in the room at the time. my sister then grabbed the dvd and inspected the back of the package. sara, my sister, then turned to me and asked,"what kind of thematic elements does this movie have." i don't know why i didn't laugh in her face right then and there, but i kept a straight face, and replied the best way i knew how, that would allow us to watch the movie,"it is rated pg-13 for nonstop kungfu/soccer hilarity". -actually i never said that- i just told her that it was probably for the fighting, and assured her that it was fighting of a comic nature. she agreed to let us watch the movie.
so we began to watch it.

I let matt know that the movie was dubbed, and that it may look a little funnier than other movies, cause their mouths move different than what they are saying. this is when i realized i underestimate the mind of a child who is probably ten years old. matt replied, is it like kung-pow? i said yes, and he said, okay.

as soon as the movie started, i knew it was going to be a little bit of time, when the actual soccer kicked in, and the kids would start to be entertained. i forgot how solid the non soccer aspect of the film was. steven, who now put down his gameboy sp, was all like,"fuck yeah, this shit is tight uncle denny!" anyway, he was into it, and so was matt. the best part of the whole thing, was the "smartie pants"ness, of my nephew matt. as soon as the soccer ball was introduced into the film, he comented at the cgi being cgi, fucking kids these days, i swear...cunt. another thing that cracked my shit up, was when "lightweight" (the fat guy) started to fly in the air. matt looked at me and said,"i wonder how many wires it took to make him fly" i turned to him and said,"A Fucking Shit-Ton, bitchfist!"
he was all like,"No diggidy, fucker denny!".

the biggest laugh in the movie was by far, the climax, and punchline to the film. the infamous naked ass golie shot! i was worried that a.) they would not show the dude's ass cheeks, like in the trailer, for the american version, and 2.) i hope they don't show this dude's ass, and i get in trouble by my sister. well this is how it goes down, THEY SHOW HIS FUCKING ASS! the kids fucking laughed their asses off, matt rewound it, steven told me to pause the part that shows his butt, and my sister watched the whole thing, and just shook her head. it was at this moment, when matt TOLD my sister, she HAD to buy the movie, on tuesday, when it comes out. My sister told matt that I would have to get it for them, i told them i would.

    -my review is this-
the american version of shaolin soccer isn't as bad as i thought it would be.
alot of it is left untouched, except for onscreen signs, that have been changed from chinee, to english, a la special FX. i was definitely pleased that the ass-cheeks were in there, because it is damn fucking funny. Not as bad as i thought at all!!!
besides, there is no way you can top shaolin soccer.

Next week i go to my sister's to watch another shaolin classic with the boys...

When You Get Caught Between the Moon and Metropolis City...282
So i purchased the Superman:The Movie Dvd like 2 years ago. I watched it a couple of times, and enjoyed it. yesterday i picked it up, dusted it off, and started to watch it. there is a svene when superman takes lois lane on a "date". He picks her up, and starts to fly with her in his arms. Two seconds later, the music swells, and they fly around the statue of liberty.i thought that was pretty cool, until i realized, they're in FUCKING METROPOLIS!!!

    the end.

Just Eat More Cakes and Pies!!!...292
I just found out, that one of the craziest movies ever, is coming out on DVD soon, The Forbidden Zone.

Made by Richard Elfman, and starring Herve Villechaize, this black and white cult classic is the shizznit!

I first heard about this movie, when i received the Danny Elfman compilation "Music for a Darkened Theater". One of the last tracks on there was a Cue from the Forbidden Zone. It was a really cool piano solo, which made me interested in the movie. I knew, from the liner notes, that the movie was Danny Elfman's first score, and was a small movie directed by his brother. It sounded like a sweet deal.

One day while at "Big Choice Video", i saw a video with a girl on the cover, holding her boobies. I was all like, "What the fuck is that". Wait a minute that is called the Forbidden Zone. I examined the package, and realized it was the one that Danny Elfman scored. So i rented it. I decided to record it on a blank tape i had, as i watched it. HOLY SHIT!!! this move was the most disturbing, fucked up thing i had ever seen. Granted i am like 14 years old. I had never seen a CULT type movie before. and this shit scared me! it is the strangest thing i had ever seen, and too this day is the strangest film i have ever seen. and i have seen strange.

anyway, it has been about 13 years since i fist saw that movie, and finally i will have it in a version better than my Stolen Copy, or the video copy i purchased.

check it out on Amazon here..
